CAM Aspirant's Creed

$19.95

The CAM Aspirant’s Creed will inspire and support the "Aspirant" daily.

You may use the creed in several ways, whether with one’s spiritual or prayer life, or a new way to try on something different as a personal discipline.

It supports the individual in three main ways:

  1. By promoting your private intention and purpose,

  2. Confirming your faith, religious-based or not,

  3. Strengthening your belief in something higher than yourself.

It is purposed to be used as a universal affirmation rather than in support of a specific religious tradition: although it may support traditions too.

At Choice Awareness we reserve parts of our day for contemplation, prayer and affirmation to help us remain tranquil and centered.

These were not practices that used to be part of our day, but they are today and we are the better for it.

We share a few disciplines that have helped us attain a more peaceful presence: the Creed has become a starting point for us.

Background

Our CAM Aspirant's Creed is a personal discipline prayer or affirmation for contemplation to guide you on a daily daily.

By Design

The creed contains three powerfully designed paragraphs which are intended to open a person to possibility at many different levels - both internal and external:

  1. personal identity level,

  2. feeling and sensing level, and

  3. Finally at a self-realization level

There is movement shown in this image, symmetry and strong sense of tranquility - can you describe others which come present for you? Perhaps this is what contemplation will provide you…

What is a Creed?

A creed is a statement or confession of belief, usually a religious belief or faith. The word derives from the Latin credo for “I believe”. Creeds have been part of antiquity with common references to churches as noted in the example of the Apostles’ Creed.

Historical Perspective

Creeds have a unique purpose because it sets forth guidelines for the believers - take a look at our definition of belief and faith. It is grounded in faith. It is appropriate to include a definition of faith (F1) at this point to provide background and understanding for our intention of the CAM Aspirant Cree

d.

All the meanings of faith have applicability to our purpose for establishing a credo, regardless of whether one believes in God, or religious doctrine. From our perspective it does matter about God.

However, our interest for each individual are the equally important definitions which we believe have absolute applicability here and include:

  • Having one become sincere,

  • Fidelity to one’s promise,

  • A firm belief in something for which there is no proof,

  • Complete trust; and finally,

  • Something that is believed especially with strong conviction.

We invite you to ponder deeply the significance of each definition.

An Affirmation

We created an affirmation in the form of a prayer to inspire us on a daily basis.

We all have influences which affect us in many ways: some in positive, neutral or negative ways.

We wanted to begin our day with positive energy which would touch and move us: we spent time figuring out what might impact us in special ways and created the Aspirant's Creed.

Embodied in the creed is relationships and interconnections from experiential aspects of the founder's early and later life: it's a personal story which may be helpful for you and others.

We decide to share our development ideas on this page.

He writes in his introduction about some of the basic influences spanning such topics as:

  1. Athletics,

  2. Religion,

  3. Art,

  4. Music,

  5. Comedy,

  6. and what freedom looks like in both early and later years...

In addition to these historical contexts, he provides a look into what it means and has meant to him over the past few years: value delivered and received.

As has been his practices since 2000, he originally recorded his Aspirant's ideas in 2006 in personal and business journals: he is only now beginning to extract the data for book form.

The current release of this 16 page e-Booklet 10-25-110 gives a historical perspective, the foundational influences and begins to describe the reasons behind developing the Aspirant's Creed.

Preface

This book describes the creation and development process of the Aspirant’s Creed, what it meant to me and why it came into existence. It was not named until it was completed. The original intention of the creed was simply to create a personal prayer that would embody a daily reminder of what God means to me. I would include the prayer as part of my wake-up half-hour with my wife which we share together to start each day, or as a start-up business day activity at the office. But, once begun it turned into much more than a prayer: it became a way of thinking/acting, an affirming of me and it touched me in very special ways.

In keeping with the original intent though, I felt it was very important to me, almost a sacred Bob-thing since it would likely be supporting me, encouraging me and maybe touching and/or nudging my beliefs: the scary possibility of rattling, shifting and perhaps changing something. Could I actually create something that could inspire me? Would I change from the hearing of it? Hadn’t I been doing change consistently for some time now? Self-imposed change of a scared-something seemed frighteningly unsettling.

The “So what?” question came to mind when I started asking the questions above. It had been asked me repeatedly, by my stubbornly Socratic Romanian colleague, Sorin Damian, so often over the past ten years that I reluctantly go there on my own now. I have learned that answering the “So what?” question conditions you favorably, opens your mind and helps get the creative sparks flying.

So what if it changed me or I became inspired by it? If, I were to ever get going on with creating this thing, I would have to take it on as a personal project to be completed in a reasonable time-frame, along with all the others which occupied a place on The-Long-List: I added it to the list.

When I began the writing of it, I started thinking about what I wanted from it: when I know the expected outcome or the end-in-mind it usually ensures the aim and I stay on target. I realized however something I hadn’t anticipated, the creation experience became an intimate and very emotional personal development process for me, filled pondering and re-experiencing long past remembrances and powerful recent events. I suspect that may happen often to those who write consistently but it was something very new for me.

What I wanted more than anything was the prayer to support me first and second affirm for me what I believed about myself. That was the first consideration as I started the development of it and wrote the first paragraph over a few days. I stopped with the first paragraph and let it sit with me for a week before proceeding. Many things came up while I re-read what I had written. You will learn more about this as you read on, but for the moment though, please enjoy the reading of the full prayer and let it settle with you to see if anything comes up for you.
